Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager will drive innovation for a new start-up company. They will lead research efforts and product development, establish manufacturing processes, and recommend product solutions for current and new products. Focus on improving process applications and technical solutions. You will lead of a high performing team of up to six engineers, which will range from the creation of new and innovative products for discovery programs to developing new/improved products through the commercialization process for both growth and cost savings initiatives.

This individual requires a strong knowledge of mechanical and chemical processes, plant operations, and manufacturing. The disciplines and duties include but are not limited to planning, project management, maintenance, scheduling, processing, and procurement. The Engineering Manager will need to be able to work with preventive maintenance and replacement strategy, including a capital expenditure program for general product and technology development.

This role manages up to six engineers. A strong leadership and communication skill set is critical for this role. The Engineering Manager is capable of prioritizing and balancing focus on multiple projects, tasks, and organizational needs in an evolving environment. The incumbent maintains the needs of the business at the most economic cost and highest quality.

  • Responsible for leading the development, execution, and delivery of plant capital projects as well as compliance with project execution guidelines in support of the PHM Brands Leadership Team strategy.
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership primary in project management and lead problem-solving teams to address machine builds, installations, and customer support.
  • The incumbent will also respond to strategic planning, innovation support needs and cost analysis requests. This is a key role to support delivery of plant operational reliability KPI’s.
  • Lead machine reliability projects.
  • Lead processing area projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction.
  • Develop training plans to satisfy the needs of both the business and the engineering individuals with the collective plant goal. Track progress and mentor as required.
  • Support processing and engineering teams on issues affecting the production lines and provide technical help as required and identify and communicate training gaps for continuous improvement.
  • Verify all projects meet requirements for safety, quality, environmental, and food safety.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or relevant degree.
  • 10+ years of development experience in the chemical industry, primarily disinfectants.
  • Ability to work independently and implement multiple projects in a timely manner.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environment, both internal and external to PHM Brands.
  • Strong technical skills in researching and development of new product applications and improving current process applications.
  • Ability to identify, champion and adapt new technologies, tools, and processes.
  • Create prototypes to bring product solutions to life and test with consumer.
  • Strong technical curiosity and creative problem-solving skills with a record of innovative technical solutions implemented.
  • Hands-on focus, sound technical judgement to influence team and business direction.
  • Travel requirement up to 40%.
  • Must be comfortable with hands on work in the plant environment.
