Production Supervisor -Extraction

This position is in our Viobin Monticello, IL facility. It requires a proactive approach to safety that encourages a safe work environment for all employees in the plant, while being responsible for the manufacturing process of PHM Brands products. The Shift Supervisor operates, monitors, maintains, and provides direction and leadership to the hexane solvent extraction process creating specialty oils for the Viobin 24/7 Extraction Department. In addition, this position is responsible for meeting production needs and ensuring product quality specifications are met on the shift. We have openings on first, second and third shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible and accountable for all extraction department productivity and activity on the shift.
  • Coordinate, implement and ensure safety guidelines, procedures, and standards are followed.
  • Responsible for production and efficiency monitoring in the extraction department.
  • Train, develop, and lead shift employees in safety, production, and quality functions in the extraction department.
  • Maintains a sound comprehension and understanding of extraction processes and flow
  • Control and operate all extraction operations involving many variables (pressures, temperatures, flows etc.) by observing equipment and other monitoring devices used to regulate and maintain required process parameters, adjusting as required.
  • Record production activities in databases and log sheets by obtaining required information from the field.
  • Troubleshoot problems by investigating and inspecting all process and machine malfunctions to solve and eliminate process related problems.
  • Ensure sanitation standards are met for the work area and various pieces of equipment to ensure efficient production of the extraction department.
  • Perform minor, preventative, and predictive maintenance duties as required.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and functions that may be required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 yrs. experience as a supervisor or lead role in Production, Maintenance, or an Engineer with project leadership.
  • Understanding of production processes and flow.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot minor mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Lean manufacturing experience, a plus.
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System experience, a plus.
  • Strong mechanical skill set and ability to learn and operate PLC’s.
  • Ability to assist maintenance, diagnosing faults, breakdowns and repair of equipment.
  • This individual must have safety, integrity, and values to be a team player.
  • Must have leadership skills and a concern for Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
  • Must have excellent verbal communication, problem solving, dependability, and knowledge.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook & Word).

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Extreme climate or climate variation, working environment of 50-110 degrees.
  • Rotating and oscillating equipment
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards to include forklifts
  • Standing and walking on concrete floors
