Grain Settlement Clerk

Denver, CO

Process receiving settlement and payment of grain purchases, as well as processing truck, rail shipments, and settlement of grain sales for Panhandle Milling. This individual can be located in Denver, CO, Omaha, NE or could potentially work remote based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process contracts, settlements and payments for grain purchased by Panhandle Milling from customers.
  • Process truck and rail shipments, settlements and payments for grain sold by Panhandle Milling
  • Interact with customers on the phone or in person regarding grain bids, contract options, and buying grain.
  • Answer customer questions regarding grain settlements and policies regarding docs, discounts and storage rates.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and a friendly atmosphere.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED): or one to three months related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS 400 grain or Ag Tech and inventory software.
  • Licenses or grain grading certificate, a plus.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
  • May be required to maintain a current weighing organization & detail orientation
  • High level of organization and intense attention to detail.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Frequently required to sit, walk, and stand
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
