Inventory Control Specialist

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the ordering, tracking, and distributing of parts, supplies, and ingredients. The position will also support engineering and R&D team members by sourcing materials for new product development. This role requires a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills and a constant sense of urgency. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review requisition requests and follow purchasing approval to place order.
  • Generate POs in database.
  • Coordinate with vendors on lead times and delays.
  • Maintain vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving (inbound and outbound freight).
  • Receive Inventory and record in database.
  • Improve systems and software for inventory control while cooperating with accounting.
  • Manage inventory on an ongoing basis and execute month end counts for accounting.
  • Store Inventory in designated areas and communicate with personnel in operations/engineering.
  • Coordinate with operations/engineers: assess supplies needed and assist in locating parts in physical inventory.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure that parts are ordered on time, relative to project timelines and schedules.
  • Create and revise SOP/OPL drafts to PHM Brands’ standard.
  • Help maintain and enforce OSHA compliance.
  • Help maintain safety standards including monthly/annual training.
  • Help maintain cleanliness of facility common areas. This may include the following, but is not limited to:
    • Daily sanitization of commonly touched surfaces.
    • Taking out the trash and vacuuming.
    • Maintain and stock conference room and office supplies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Supply Chain, procurement, and or logistics experience preferred.
  • Inventory management preferred.
    • Warehouse or manufacturing setting.
    • Measuring levels of inventory & familiarity with JIT, Min, and Max inventory levels.
  • Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred.
  • Microsoft Excel and ERP/OEM database proficiency.
  • Discipline, drive, and a team attitude.
  • Must be detail-oriented, task-driven, and quick to learn/operate in an agile environment.
  • Ability to work and communicate with various departments within the organization via email, phone, and video conferencing.
  • Actively seeks continuous improvement.
  • General cleanliness – workstations require cleaning and organization before ending each day.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Extreme climate or climate variation
  • Heat up to 100 degrees and lows of 40 degrees
  • Changes of >30 degrees within a shift
  • Rotating and oscillating equipment
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts
  • Standing and walking on concrete floor
