Plant Engineer

The Plant Engineer will support the production facilities in the West Region, by leading technicians, training personnel, leading/managing projects, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and modifying mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment; Including PLC, DCS and multiple systems.
The plant engineering role will be based in our Dawn, TX facility.

  • Attract, retain, develop, and mentor key talent within the plant.
  • Work directly with plant leadership and operations personnel to quickly address breakdowns, repairs, etc.
  • Manage plant projects, capital projects, and project budgets.
  • Communicate effectively with plant management, engineering, and operations about maintenance and capital project requirements.
  • Keep Safety in the forefront of all team’s thinking and approach to work.
  • Ensure safe work environment and well-organized facility.
  • Ensure safety rules without exception.
  • Ensure success of production and maintenance departments.
  • Support and lead for low levels of unplanned machine downtime.
  • Own plant capital list and CAR system for the facilities.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering preferred
  • 1-3+ years of engineering
  • Agriculture or manufacturing environment
  • Instinctive servant leader and evidence of success
  • Advanced technical knowledge with strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience managing CAPEX projects & budgets between $5k – $5M+
  • Ability to read, sketch and understand mechanical, piping, and electrical drawings
  • Must be “hands on” with eager desire to get dirty and lead by example



  • This position requires physical efforts such as straining, pulling, lifting, working, and standing and walking on concrete floor
  • Exposure to elements such as noise, minable dust, cold and hot temperatures
  • Extreme climate or climate variation
  • Heat up to 100 degrees and lows of 40 degrees
  • Changes of >30 degrees within a shift
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts
  • Climbing of ladders
