Production Technician

Champaign, IL

We are seeking Production Technicians and Bagger Blenders to become an integral part of our expanding Viobin Monticello, IL team! You will operate industrial equipment or machinery to produce the required quantity and quality of products according to customer specifications. We have openings on all three shifts.

  • Bagger Blenders (Entry Level) $16.50 hr
  • Isolate Technicians $16.50 hr (90 day review to increase to $17.00 hr)
  • Extraction Technicians – $17.00 hr
  • Oil Distilling Technicians – $17.00 hr

PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bagger Blender

  • Following the production schedule to blend the correct raw wheat germ according to a set schedule.
  • Accurately estimate wheat germ needs while determining to which silos or hoppers to route material for efficient production.
  • Adjust the blender controls and hoses to be certain that the proper blend and storage devices have been selected.
  • Keep accurate and orderly records on the type and amount of wheat germ blended for daily inventory reporting purposes.
  • Responsible for weighing, blending, packing, and labeling finished product.

 

Isolate Technician 

  • Reading and interpreting the production schedule to evaluate upcoming production requirements.
  • Control settings to make the necessary adjustments on equipment units affecting speeds of production, quality, and yields.
  • Inspect operating and production equipment to ensure they are functioning and to maintain maximum efficiency.
  • Sample products and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and to ensure that standards are met.
  • Record operating data, such as process conditions, test results, or instrument readings.
  • Notify maintenance and supervisory personnel of all conditions affecting safety, efficiency, or product quality.
  • Keep accurate and orderly records on the type and amount of compound blended for daily inventory reporting purposes. This includes the ability to perform basic math.
  • Perform maintenance and cleanup for blending work and storage areas.

 

Extraction & Oil Distilling Technician

  • Control settings to make the necessary adjustments on equipment units affecting speeds of production, quality, and yields.
  • Inspect operating and production equipment to ensure they are functioning and to maintain maximum efficiency.
  • Sample products and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and to ensure that standards are met.
  • Record operating data, such as process conditions, test results, or instrument readings.
  • Notify maintenance and supervisory personnel of all conditions affecting safety, efficiency, or product quality.
  • Keep accurate and orderly records on the type and amount of compound blended for daily inventory reporting purposes. This includes the ability to perform basic math.
  • Perform maintenance and cleanup for blending work and storage areas.
  • Perform the duties of bagging and blending and be able to step into those roles when needed.

 

PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS:

Bagger Blender & Isolate Technicians

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Familiar with machinery
  • Must be self-sufficient with the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions.
  • Ability to monitor product and equipment.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, multitask, and able to read and write.
  • Available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd
  • On the job training is provided

 

 Distilling Technician and Extraction Technician

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Familiar with machinery
  • Oil extraction experience a plus
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Must be self-sufficient with the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions.
  • Ability to monitor product and equipment.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, multitask, and able to read and write.
  • Available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd
  • Must be able to lift 50-pound pails on a continuous basis.
  • Must be able to stand and move for the duration of the shift.
  • On the job training is provided

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position requires physical efforts such as straining, pulling, lifting, working, and standing during their entire shift.
  • Exposure to elements such as noise, minable dust, cold and hot temperatures.
  • Evenings, weekends, and shift work may be required.
