Warehouse Supervisor

WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directs, trains and manages hourly employees who perform shipping, receiving, warehousing and inventory activities.
• Manages the final point of product inspection prior to shipping to customers.
• Ensures a clean, well-organized warehouse space.
• Oversees incoming and outgoing activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Plans trucks for effective delivery both to customers and within the company.
• Coordinates with other plants on internal transfers.
• Special situation problem solving – urgently addresses any customer needs.
• Works with the Logistics Manager and trucking terminal managers to make sure truck resources are available when needed.
• Works with Plant Scheduler, Production Manager and other operations leadership on production completion and shipping, short term, and long term.
• Compiles records of unfilled orders and communicates with Inside Sales on shipping/receiving changes, back orders, etc.
• Handles outbound transfer management.
• Owns raw materials and finished goods organization.
• Oversees receiving procedures and performs cycle counting.
• Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Oversees the preparation of bills of lading.
• May assist workers in shipping and receiving activities.
• Any other duties assigned by his/her supervisor, superior or a member of management.
• Oversees loading of bulk flour shipments and outbound paperwork.

WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years relevant job experience (Or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years’ experience in plant operations.
• Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated Continuous Improvement processes.
• Demonstrated scheduling and process optimization for grain receiving.
• Strong leadership behaviors.
• Demonstrated safety and food safety champion behaviors.
• Strong interpersonal skills (communication, coaching, setting expectations, providing feedback).
• Demonstrated problem solving/decision making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and lead others to work as a team.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate composure in difficult situations.
• Ability to pay extreme attention to detail.
• Strong ability to be adaptable and flexible.
• Forklift experience or willingness/ability to gain experience needed.
• Positive, team player attitude.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Extreme climate or climate variation.
• Heat up to 100 degrees and lows of 40.
• Changes of >30 degrees within a shift.
• Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts.
• Carrying, bending, sitting, stretching, and standing and walking on concrete floor.
