BLENDING OPERATOR SUMMARY: 

The Blending Operator is responsible for the blending of raw wheat germ base. We have openings on 2nd & 3rd shifts.

BLENDING OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Follow the production schedule to blend the correct raw wheat germ. 
  • Accurately estimate wheat germ needs while determining to which silos or hoppers to route material for efficient production. 
  • Adjust the blender controls and hoses to be certain that the proper blend and storage devices have been selected. 
  • Keep accurate and orderly records on the type and amount of wheat germ blended for daily inventory reporting purposes. 
  • Responsible for weighing, blending, raw product. 
  • Communicate effectively with staff daily. 
  • Perform cleanup for blending work and storage areas. 
  • Assist with monthly inventory of raw materials. Continually monitor raw material inventory and usage. 

 

BLENDING OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • HS diploma or GED required. 
  • Must be self-sufficient with the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions. 
  • Ability to monitor product and equipment. 
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills, and ability to read and write.  
  • Available to work 3rd shift.  (12am to 8am)
  • On the job training is provided. 
  • Safety training is required and provided. 
  • Evenings, weekends, and shift work may be required. 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • This position requires physical efforts such as straining, pulling, lifting, working, and standing and walking on concrete floor.  
  • Exposure to elements such as noise, minable dust, cold and hot temperatures.  
  • Extreme climate or climate variation. 
  • Heat up to 100 degrees and lows of 40 degrees.  
  • Changes of >30 degrees within a shift. 
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces and follow permit requirements.
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts. 
  • Climbing of ladders. 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
