JOB SUMMARY:

 The Mill Utility is responsible for the daily sanitation of the flour mill.

MILL UTILITY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Routine cleaning of floors, stairs, equipment, and roofs.
  • Use brooms, shovels, dust mop as needed. Will adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Blow down overheads as needed.
  • Specialized cleaning and repair tasks such as bin cleanings, working final product sifters, working mill sifters, cleaning leg boots, sifter sock changes, and other equipment cleaning as needed.
  • Clean and inspect aspiration lines and fill out appropriate paperwork.
  • Dump barrels into trash and feed in stations.
  • Shovel product as needed.
  • Perform all food safety tasks in work area, keep up with MSS tasks, and sign off at the appropriate frequencies.
  • Responsible for understanding and following all personnel and equipment safety, food safety, IPM/Sanitation, and Business Unit policies and procedures.
  • Follow all GMP’s.
  • Any other sanitation or cleaning task assigned to complete to maintain our environmental, health, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Wear full body harness as needed.
  • Assist in load out transfers, as needed.
  • Perform other duties or tasks as required, as determined by supervisor.

 

MILL UTILITY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Education or GED equivalent.
  • On the job training is provided.
  • Safety training is required and provided by Panhandle Milling in group settings, as well as individual computer-based training.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, multitask, and able to read and write in English.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written/verbal instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Available to work flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and shift rotations.
  • Must wear PPE.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds bags.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Periodically in elevated heights.
  • Work periodically in confined spaces.
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, couching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
  • Ascend and descend stairs throughout the facility.
  • Climbing of ladders.
  • Extreme climate or climate variation.
  • Exposure to elements such as noise, minable dust, cold and hot temperatures.
  • Heat up to 100 degrees and lows of 40 degrees.
  • Changes of >30 degrees within a shift.
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts
